Title:The Evolution of the Safer Barrier – A New Standard for Track Barriers
Speaker: Bob Bielenberg, MSME
Speaker Bio: Mr. Bielenberg is a Research Associate Engineer at the Midwest Roadside Safety Facility located at University of Nebraska – Lincoln, where he has been responsible for the design, computer simulation modeling, and testing of various roadside safety features for the past 20 years. Bob’s primary focus is the design of new roadside hardware through the use of computer simulation modeling. He also assisted in the original development of the Manual for Assessment of Safety Hardware (MASH) and was a primary designer and developer of the SAFER Barrier for high speed racetrack applications, consulting with both INDYCAR and NASCAR over the past 15 years.
