Over the next couple of months we will continue to post the presentations given at the 2018 Annual Congress. The material is included under the Members Only section.

Title:Physiological Response Differences in Competitive Motorsport Between Pro and Amateur Drivers
Speaker: Samuel Barthel, MS

Speaker Bio: Mr. Barthel completed his undergraduate studies at Hope College in Michigan and is currently a Ph.D. student studying exercise physiology at Michigan State University with Dr. David Ferguson. He is involved with research projects in the Spartan Motorsport Performance Lab studying the physiological response to racing. Specifically, he has worked with CJ Wilson Racing and Corvette Racing to understand how thermal stress influences driver performance. His ultimate objective is to develop therapeutic countermeasures to reduce fatigue and increase performance and safety in the race car.
