Title:  Reflections Upon My Career in Motorsports Safety and Rescue

Speaker:  Mike Yates, EMT/P

Speaker Bio:  Mr. Yates has been a member of the Verizon IndyCar Series Safety Team since its formation in 1996 and began working on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Track Safety Team as a Paramedic in 1985. He served as the assistant Track Safety Coordinator at “The Speedway” starting in 2001 and in 2008 was appointed Track Safety Operations Manager. He developed the driver extraction protocol, response protocol and the management structure used by the Indy Car Safety Team. Mr. Yates, along with Dr. Mike Olinger, supervises the Holmatro Safety Team which consists of physicians, paramedics and firefighters/EMT’s that travel to all Indy Car events around the world.
