Race Track Safety Program (RTSP)
Get ready for an action-packed event! The 2024 Race Track Safety Program (RTSP) is all set to take place on Friday, December 13. This one-day, hands-on training is specifically designed for the personnel responsible for providing on-track safety initiatives. At the RTSP, we are proud to bring together a team of experts in their respective fields, who will deliver the latest in safety education and training, ensuring that our motorsport community is well-prepared and equipped for any situation.
The SFI curriculum encompasses eight comprehensive training stations, each focusing on critical aspects of safety management. Participants will engage in essential training, covering topics such as HANS and helmet removal, spinal immobilization, driver extraction, airway management, and hemorrhage control within a chassis or tub. Additionally, we will explore the crucial driver and medic interaction found in the car, as well as essential medical center skills.
The RTSP is not just another training program; it is an opportunity to enhance and refine vital safety skills. Through simulated case scenarios, participants will tackle real-life challenges faced in motorsport medicine. These two simulations, one involving a spinal cord injury and the other addressing chest trauma hemorrhage, will offer a dynamic learning experience that prepares our safety personnel to be at their best when it matters most.
